Walking Each Other Home: A Caregiver's Journey of Grace
Walking Each Other Home is more than a memoire; it's a companion for caregivers searching for grace, courage, and community. It is also a faith-based guide for anyone navigating the emotional terrain of caring for elderly parents, especially those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Through touching devotionals and personal reflections, author Ann-Marie Murrell offers practical advice and spiritual encouragement, anchored in God’s 5th Commandment: Honor your father and your mother.

Walking Each Other Home: A Caregiver's Devotional
The 365 stories and anecdotes in this devotional were taken from Ann-Marie's daily journals from 2017-2025. Even during the pandemic when things became extremely dark, God’s light always shone through. Every day Ann-Marie strived to follow His footsteps, not her own, and in His time; that was the only way she
survived intact. She prays that this devotional will be a blessing to you, and a companion with your bible.
Walking Each Other Home: A Caregiver's Journal
Ann-Marie's personal journals helped her manage a maze of doctor’s appointment, medications, and daily to-dos. But more than that, it became an important record of the journey she was walking with her parents. She hopes you will pour out your heart in your own journal, writing about your caregiving moments for the version of ‘you’ who will one day look back and see how faithfully God carried you through the storms.

“Ann-Marie wrote Walking Each Other Home: A Caregiver’s Journey of Grace after both her parents were diagnosed with Alzheimer's and she was left to manage their lives. Her book offers practical advice along with personal stories that are sometimes funny, at times heartbreaking, and there are even a few miracles. I highly recommend.”
~ Kevin Sorbo, Actor ('God's Not Dead' 'Let There Be Light'), Filmmaker, Director, Author
"I have the privilege and pleasure of knowing one of the 'good ones', Ann-Marie Murrell. She is a gifted on-air personality, author, writer and actress... [She ] left Hollywood and the posh surroundings which she navigated so well to move back to her home state of Texas to the small town where her mother and stepfather lived. You'll see here in this book how the hand of God guides the hands of a daughter who commits to the Lord's words of 'suffer the little children unto Me.'” ~Vincent Curatola, Actor (‘The Sopranos’) and Elder Activist
Endorsements
“Walking Each Other Home offers firsthand advice about everything from early dementia detection to the various types of nursing facilities (along with red flags to watch out for). It's also a great reminder that in this life we're not promised another moment. So while we're still alert and able, it's important to get our own houses in order.

“Many loved ones are forgotten and shuttered away because their families don't know how to deal with the situation, but Ann-Marie shows us how to take the first steps and let God lead the way while explaining how anyone can step up, lend a hand and be an inspiration for others. A+++++!”
~Morgan Brittany, Actress (‘Gypsy’, ‘Yours, Mine, and Ours’,. ‘Dallas’), Speaker, Author
“Today’s society focuses mostly on youth, the ‘useful’ ones, and tends to leave behind our elderly. Ann-Marie’s book, 'Honoring the 5th: A Caregiver's Guide' brings those elders to the forefront and offers honest, tried-and-true solutions as to how we can (and should) care for our precious family members to the very end of their lives.”~Jenn Gotzon, Actress (Oscar Nominated 'Frost/Nixon', 'My Daddy is in Heaven'), Producer, Amazon Best Seller (“The Farmer and The Belle”)

About Ann-Marie Murrell
Ann-Marie Murrell has worn many hats—author, editor, journalist, political commentator, and media producer. But when both of her parents were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she stepped away from her Los Angeles life to become their full-time caregiver in East Texas. Later, after facing her own diagnosis of Early Onset Alzheimer’s, Ann-Marie knew she had to write Walking Each Other Home: A Caregiver's Journey to Grace along with the companion devotional. Drawing on her deep faith and firsthand experiences, she shares a raw, heartfelt, and honest journey of caregiving in the face of dementia. Her writing is both spiritual and practical, offering a lifeline not only to other caregivers walking the same path, but also as a lasting legacy for her own children.
